Born in Warwickshire, Jemma Bausor gained a full scholarship to Wells Cathedral School, Somerset. Her undergraduate studies took place at the Royal College of Music in London, where she won the Peter Pears Duo Prize and took part in Side-by-Side schemes with the London Symphony Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Jemma went on to study for a Postgraduate Performance Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was awarded the Robert Rendell Scholarship. Having finished her Postgraduate studies, Jemma was granted a full scholarship to study under Hansjörg Schellenberger at the Encuentro Musica y Academia in Santander, Spain, where she played alongside members of the Berlin Philharmonic.
Jemmas orchestral work includes the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Bangkok Symphony Orchestra and UK National Symphony Orchestra. She was oboist with the London West End musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and has recorded solo oboe works for Boosey & Hawkes and for various film and television.
Jemma regularly plays as a soloist and has performed the Martinu oboe concerto, Marcello oboe concerto and Albinoni concerto for two oboes. Her solo playing has taken her as far as France, Italy and Thailand. |
