Mark Snyder, oboe/English horn, presented his New York Recital Debut to critical acclaim in March 2002 at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall as a prizewinner of the Artists International Competition. Active as a free lance artist, Marks performances have included appearances with ensembles such as the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra, Key West Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional (Dominican Republic), Festival Musical de Santo Domingo 2009, Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas, North Eastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Reading Symphony Orchestra, Delaware Symphony, Vermont Symphony Orchestra, Albany Symphony, Princeton Symphony, Westchester Chamber Orchestra, New England Symphonic Ensemble, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra.
Marks Broadway credits include Les Miserables, Little Women, Tale of Two Cities, South Pacific and The Phantom of the Opera.
Mark has presented solo recitals at Trinity Church @ Wall Street; The Cathedral of St. John the Divine, and has recorded for Koch International Records, Albany Records, and the Smithsonian Institute. He is also a founding member of the chamber ensemble Pastiche, which won the Artists International Chamber Music Award and presented their successful Carnegie Hall debut in the 1999- 2000 season; and the oboe trio THREEDS which has performed throughout the Northeast including many venues in New York City. Mark has performed concerti by J.S. Bach, Bellini, Copland, Vaughan Williams, and Vivaldi with the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra and the Westchester Chamber Orchestra.
Mark began his musical studies at the Pennsylvania Governors School for the Arts and received his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Connecticut and Master of Music degree from the Manhattan School of Music. In December of 2005, Mark completed the Doctor of Musical Arts degree, studying with Matthew Sullivan, at the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. He has also studied with Joseph Robinson, Keisuke Wakao, Ronald Roseman and Sandy Consigliol.
Mark is on the faculty of Western Connecticut State University, Long Island University / CW Post Campus, The Ridgewood Conservatory, Ridgewood, New Jersey, The Lawrenceville School, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, and the New York Summer Music Festival.
